In need of a mail account? There are many different freemailer which can help you get one. I've listed some here:

GMX GMX.DE is a german freemailer
WEB.DE WEB.DE is another german freemailer
Freenet Freenet is yet another german freemailer
Yahoo Yahoo is an international freemailer which offers localized versions
Hotmail Hotmail is a freemailer from Microsoft. Since it is not possible to use hotmail without MS Outlook or MS Outlook Express, I do not recommend its usage.
